Brutalist home design

For this home design, my key inspiration was brutalisim architecture. This involves using large angles, geometric shapes, simple lines, and blocky, heavy appearances. It was such an interesting style to be creative with as it is a style with an emphasis on materials, textures, construction, and highly expressive forms. I explored both exterior and interior design with a focus on functionality and aesthetics.

This home was designed in mind for my parents Shelley & Ray on a pre-existing site, through interviews and discussions I constructed a brief that encompassed their needs and wants for their home that I followed throughout the project.

I used varying forms of freehand sketching, modeling, instrumental drawing, and 3-point perspectives to communicate my plan, vision, and ideas for the project.
