Equine Poster Series I

DESCRIPTION:

Equine Poster Series IThe project was created for the purpose of the NCEA AS90916 1.4 External. The content I have created contains a series of equine posters for the purpose of décor. The posters share consistent coloration and gaussian blur background to each other in order to remain cohesive if they were to be hung together. The photography is taken from a friend's ranch, as well as show jumping shows around Auckland and Tauranga, and depict horse riding in action, as well as general horse care. The designs were created in Adobe Photoshop, and developed extensively with the use of photo manipulation. Additionally I have made use of my photos from previous experiences such as hiking in the Milford Sound and Waikaremoana, in order to create various different double exposure effects.Fallen Ember’s piece:Based off of Piotr Skoczylas’s Fire artworks, this piece is created to demonstrate the unpredictability of the equestrian world. By utilizing imagery of the waterfalls in Milford sound (Turning them to lava-falls), and various other lava flows and forestry, the artwork makes an excellent wall-hanging fantasy/adventure poster.Fragility piece:Based partially off both Piotr Skoczylas and Trompe L’oeil artworks, this piece utilizes glass distortion and double exposure to create a piece which reflects some horses’ accident-prone tendencies (something that is quite common in horse riding). The double exposure in this artwork is also created through the use of imagery from the Milford Sound New Zealand.Feather Piece:The care many riders express through horse riding, and the freedom this provides them is presented in this piece through the use of double exposure in feather brushes/images.All imagery used within the creation of this series of artworks is copyright free and is entirely my original work.
