DESCRIPTION:
this level 2 board is based on a tattoo parlour named miss ink. i have an interest in american/japanese traditional tattoo culture, and so looking into this as a design theme was a must. i also wanted to fill a gap in gender stereotypes in tattoo culture, women are under represented in this area. as it expected that men tattoo, men get tattoos and men own tattoo shops. this sparking the reason i wanted to take a feminine approach to this. i also love typography, this being the reason i have used it conventionally and unconventionally. tattoo shops also tend to have a certain look and feel, so completely ditching this and going with my own style i thought would be interesting. there is a certain stigma around tattoos, they are not seen as classy or modern. this is what i wanted to channel through this board.
