Slush fest
DESCRIPTION:
This series was shot on a day trip to Mt Ruapehu's Whakapapa Skifield on a sunny but slushy day. The lift queues were small and the vibes were high. We skied iconic runs such as "Black Magic" and "Broken Leg Gully" in the day's heat.
I shot nearly every photo at f/22 and at 1/160 sec which was interesting as many photographers including myself see the aperture as something that doesn't get changed. For example, I often leave my aperture as wide open as possible but on this shoot, the amount of light and my lack of nd filters forced me into these settings which I was actually stoked about. I hope you can interpret the fun and free nature of skiing through my documentary-style images.
