The judges for the Q Awards are leaders in their fields, and also advocates for the creative industries in New Zealand. They have a wealth of experience and have been keen supporters of the Q Awards. We thank them for their time and in supporting young creatives in Tauranga and the Western Bay.
Quentin is the Managing Director of The Quentosity Group, a New Zealand company with a stable of 8 brands across the digital spectrum. Quentin will be supported in judging by Anna Phan and Kelsey Willcocks, two of The Quentosity Group’s senior design team.
Chloe is a Tauranga-based humanitarian, the Co-founder, CEO and Trustee of the Wright Family Foundation, actively supporting people in achieving their full potential through health, education, environmental and community initiatives.

Ross is the Business Development Manager at Kale Print, an award-winning, family owned business based in Tauranga, providing exceptional print, signage, design, packaging, and merchandise work.
Jason is the Managing Director of Commercial Signs, based in Mount Maunganui. Commercial Signs is a highly esteemed signage designer, manufacturer and installer, with work ranging from interior and exterior signage to building rebrand work, vehicle & boat, light boxes, illuminated signs, and stickers & decals.
Sarieta is the Co-Founder of Tauranga-based Boundless Vision, whose specialist work ranges from marketing videos to virtual tours, weddings, aerial and drone work, 3D floor plans, events and architecture media. We’re thrilled to have Sarieta as a judge and thank her for the support she’s given.
David’s work as a photographer has taken him from working on fashion shoots in London, to covering a Royal Wedding, to documenting life in civil war refugee camps in Africa, and capturing numerous portraits and concerts for artists, plus volunteer work for a homeless charity.
Matt is a director of Media Masters, a full service media production company providing both video and photography for businesses and the real estate sector, along with specialist services that include aerial media and 3D virtual tours.
Phil is the Director of H.G. Rose Architecture, whose extensive design work covers residential alterations, new residences, multi-unit residential, shop fit-out design as well as industrial and commercial buildings.
Matt is the General Manager: Technology & Delivery at Trustpower, and Paula is the People & Capability Manager. Trustpower is a long-term supporter of local community events and projects right throughout Aotearoa. Each year Trustpower is involved in Summer of Tech, supporting youth to gain experience and roles within their technology teams. Their Apollo Programme also brings in people from across Aotearoa to work in different roles throughout their organisation, from graduates to people wanting a change of career. Opportunities for growth, and building people and their capability within our communities are key focuses for the Trustpower team.
Architect Mark Wassung is the owner of Design Engine Architects, a Tauranga based professional practice that provides services for Commercial, Residential and Infrastructure Projects, focused on creating design excellence. Current work includes the Mount Hot Pools Revitalisation, CBD Hotel Project, Residential Intensification Projects and Multi-modal Transport Projects.
Johnny is the managing director of industry leading building company Calley Homes, Calley Homes specialises in designing and building architecturally designed homes across the wider Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. As well as extensive local industry knowledge and experience, he has worked in the UK for a number of years giving him an international perspective. Johnny is currently a director of Registered Master Builders and the current National Vice President.
Originally from Tauranga, Shane has worked at OneCall since 2007, and his combination of experience in IT and logistics give him a unique take on technical challenges. As Managing Director, Shane oversees the day-to-day running of OneCall and works with the Sales team to ensure clients get solutions that are right for them.
Kelsey is a Senior Graphic Designer at The Quentosity Group. Kelsey's designs have received recognition both in New Zealand and abroad. With over 10 years of industry experience, Kelsey has a real talent for helping businesses tell their brand's story. She's passionate about her craft and loves using her creativity to enhance brands.
Rachel is Special Counsel at Holland Beckett, a leading full service law firm based in the BOP. Rachel is a highly regarded commercial civil litigation lawyer, specialising in insolvency law. As well as being a specialist litigator, she is passionate about the arts - having studied photography and film prior to law and remaining very involved in community initiatives in this space.
Kym is the Design Studio Manager/Graphic Designer for Sun Media, with over 40 years' experience in the industry. Sun Media publishes your weekly community newspaper The Weekend Sun, rural publication Coast & Country News, and daily news websites SunLive and Rotorua Now.
Pavee is a litigation solicitor at Holland Beckett Law, based in Rotorua. As an oil painter who has exhibited his work in New Zealand, Pavee has a keen passion for the arts, in both digital or traditional mediums. His current works explore the connection between New Zealand fauna and the sea.
