Appenzell Drive Home Renovation
DESCRIPTION:
My project involved renovating an outdated house purchased by my clients, which required some changes to enhance its functionality and aesthetics. I drew inspiration from the organic forms of the monstera plant and shapes of the praying mantis. From this I developed three distinct design concepts. With these concepts, I preserved the existing exterior shell of the house which allowed me to maintain the home’s character while maximizing its potential. By reimagining the interior layout and adding extensions and a facade, I was able to create a more functional and spacious environment. Through collaboration with my clients, I refined these ideas to ensure the final design not only meets their needs and wants but also transforms the space into a modern, inviting home. To enhance their understanding of the final design concept, I also created a cardboard model of my improved house design.
