‘Hillcrest’ is a cartoon horror film about zombies. The theme of ‘Identity and Transformation’ runs through the story, exploring how teenagers must adapt and evolve in the face of a zombie apocalypse on Halloween night, ultimately discovering their true selves in the process.
In the town of Hillcrest, a group of friends dressed in unique and funky costumes for Halloween find themselves in the midst of a zombie outbreak. As they band together to survive, each character must confront their fears, discover their hidden strengths, and undergo personal growth and transformation. Through their journey, they come to realise the importance of unity, friendship, and staying true to themselves in the face of adversity.
Set in a small town in New Zealand during the 80s/90s era, creating a nostalgic and retro backdrop for the characters’ adventures. The Halloween night setting adds an extra layer of spookiness and excitement to the already intense survival situation.
