Te Manawa

DESCRIPTION:

Within my college (Tauranga Girls College), there is a “learning hub” called Te Manawa. Te Manawa is a centrally located facility that provides a support base for students with a variety of learning needs, such as dyslexia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, and anxiety. This documentary is based around Karen Gilby, who oversees the hub, this short documentary is focused on what her role entails, the environment she has created for her students and the goals and aspirations she has for their futures.
